John Varaklis

As physIQ’s Chief Strategy Officer, John brings extensive experience in Global Clinical Development having led early and late-phase Clinical Operations at Novartis, Abbott and Roche. As a pioneer in direct from patient data capture approaches, John’s innovation team led the implementation of the first wireless remote endpoint collections solutions at Novartis and was awarded a patent for this novel work. As Head of Abbott’s Established Pharmaceutical Digital Health Solutions group, John built and successfully deployed several bespoke solutions designed to support real-world data collection and AI-based chronic disease management platforms. At Roche, John built a data science team to leverage advanced analytics to optimize trial design and execution and helped design and pilot a best-in-class block-chain-based solution to assist with biological sample tracking and management.John holds a BS in Biochemistry from Concordia University in Montréal, Canada and lives in Basel, Switzerland where you might sometimes find him playing ice-hockey for the Roche Sports Club team.
