Chief operating officer

Joel is responsible for ensuring the success of our business and overseeing the operational processes necessary for a rapidly growing and scaling organization. As chief operating officer (COO) and chief information security officer (CISO) for physIQ, Joel's responsibilities include ensuring that physIQ’s strategy, product, customer success, cybersecurity and compliance activities align to present the market with a compelling and complete solution, exceeding customer expectations. Joel has spent 20+ years in healthcare software development, operations, security and process improvement. Prior to joining physIQ, Joel served in a number of senior-level technology positions, including roles as CEO of two innovative healthcare services and value-based care growth-stage companies and as CTO/CISO of a top-tier academic health system.

Joel has a BS from Northwest Missouri State University and lives in Chicago with his wife, daughter and son. In his spare time, he loves working with his children on books, coaching soccer, trying to cook something that his kids will eat and fitting in the occasional triathlon.
